I hope everyone has been enjoying lots of fun summer activities with family and friends. Kathy and I sure have, especially with all the grandkids!
Yankton firefighters responded to a unoccupied mobile home fire Monday morning, Aug. 17, at 1:51 a.m. on Yankton’s east side. The fire was discovered by the police department on patrol.
At about 8 p.m. on Aug. 4, the Avon Fire Department responded to a baler fire on a farm west of Avon.
If you have read this column long enough you know that I at times have a kind of warped sense of humor.
Schools are back in session for most areas of the state.
Lightning struck the Main Street Cinemas building in the 100 block of North Main Street in Mt. Pleasant early on the morning of July 16, but smoke was not noticed until around noon.
On June 1, Jewell Fire and Rescue and Ellsworth Fire and EMS participated in an Ag Plane Rescue Drill held at a local private air strip south of Jewell.
