The 20th Annual Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Firefighters Memorial in Coralville (Exit 242 off Interstate 80).
The traditional mission statement of the fire service is “Dedicated to the protection of lives and property.” “Lives” is listed first by design not chance.
The water was cold and there were chunks of ice floating nearby like miniature icebergs while a few ducks sat nearby.
Arnold’s Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a house fire on March 3. When they arrived, the fire had spread to an adjacent home as well.
