Firefighter Day on the Hill

Greetings Fellow Firefighters - With the start of the new year, we are beginning a new decade in the fire service. I am looking forward to positive changes across the board for emergency services and can assure you the IFA Board will be doing everything in their power to promote education, safety and growth for the Fire Service of Iowa.

Members of the Pierce Fire Department fought a trailer fire on the Jan. 1. The call came in at the early afternoon. Mutual aid was called in to Plainview Fire and Hadar Fire to assist with the fire. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted on the scene. Photo by Aaron Beckman.

It was a Christmas Eve that the McDonald family of Kearney won’t soon forget.

On Dec. 7, Pillager Area Fire and Rescue responded to a three-vehicle accident on Hwy 210. After responding to that call, they took to Facebook to relay some observations before, during and after the scene. They had no idea it would take off like it did, but it definitely resonated with many folks! As of this morning at 8 a.m. Dec.

Cooler weather

Good day Kansas Fire Service. As I write this, we are moving into the cooler weather of winter. We started with some early snow in late October in many areas of the state.
