   Last month I included a picture of traffic cones located on the tail shelf of our rescue truck. There are actually cones on the tail shelf of all of our trucks. Our department recently participated in a Traffic Incident Management System program sponsored by the Fire Service Training Bureau. The class was amazing!

   The 28th annual Iowa Firefighters Memorial service will be held on June 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with the Candlelight service the evening before on June 10th at 9 p.m. at the Memorial in Coralville.  

   The address for the site is: 1 Russell Slade Blvd. (Exit 242 off of I-80.

   As most of you know, Fairbury Rural Fire had a member honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial, the first weekend in May, along with three other Nebraska firefighters.

   A house fire in the early hours of Thursday, May 11th claimed the life of 80-year-old Diane Bagley of Hurley.

   The fire was called in by a neighbor at 4:30 a.m. after a nearby lightning strike caused them to investigate their own home. The initial call was for a possible strike on the house and smoke odor.

A house on the Lake Lena Reservation was fully engulfed on April 3. Duxbury Fire was called out for mutual aid to Danbury Fire Department at 8:30 p.m. They were out of water. Chief Mike was there until 1 a.m. He let us go earlier when they no longer needed water from our tanker.
