     Typically, volunteer departments are struggling to find good members. I have heard of several ambulance services that are in danger of closing or at least leaving gaps in the coverage they offer. This will likely become an issue for the fire departments as well if we don’t do something to correct this.

     We hope everyone who attended the NSVFA Annual Conference took the opportunity to visit the Nebraska Firefighters Museum and Education Center. The annual change out of fire trucks was completed on Oct.

     The Lead Volunteer Fire Department, responded to a reported structure fire in a residential structure, at 10 Parkdale Ave., Lead, SD.

     On Oct. 8, 2018 at 3:24 p.m. Pennington and Meade County Fire Departments responded to the 5907 Pine Street Fire in Black Hawk. Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 5907 Pine Street (Black Hawk) where they found moderate to heavy smoke coming from the occupied building.
