Congratulations award winners!
The 147th Annual MSFDA Conference and Fire School took place from Sept. 20-21 in Mankato, and we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the sponsors, instructors, volunteers, and attendees who contributed to its success.
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of training sessions, designed to enhance their skills and knowledge in the fire service.
A highlight of the conference each year is the banquet dinner and awards ceremony, where the remarkable dedication of our members is celebrated. This year, Tyler Stindtman from Easton Fire was honored as Firefighter of the Year, the Rice Fire Department was named Fire Department of the Year, and Renee Massingham of Dassel Fire received the Fire Prevention/Community Awareness Award. The evening’s emcee was Mike “Spanky” Schroeder, a retired member of Willmar Fire and longtime MSFDA board member and supporter.
For those who attended, we hope you found the conference both valuable and enjoyable, and we look forward to welcoming you again next year in Breezy Point, from Sept. 18-20, 2025.
We are also excited to announce that our membership has grown to include 657 fire departments. The MSFDA board remains dedicated to offering our members exclusive benefits and advocating for all firefighters across the state. If your department is not yet a member, please reach out to learn more about joining.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook and check our website for the latest updates and opportunities to connect with MSFDA as we continue to shape the future of the fire service together.
