Excited for 2025

At the MSFDA Conference this September, Dale Grochow from the Dassel Fire Department stepped up as our new President, taking over from Dave Yurczyk. A big thank you to Dave for his years of dedicated service on the MSFDA board!

Dave has spent over 20 years with the Holdingford Fire Department, where he served as a volunteer firefighter until his retirement in 2020. During his time, he took on important roles including Relief Association Trustee and Training Officer.

In 2012, Dave joined the MSFDA board as the Region 6 Director and went on to hold several leadership positions, including Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President. His contributions have also included roles on the Minnesota Fire Service Certification Board, the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), the MnFIRE Board of Directors, and the Fire Safety Account Advisory Committee.

But Dave’s impact goes beyond firefighting. He’s a dedicated community leader, having served on the local school board and as a township supervisor. He also runs T Berries, a berry farm, and his own business, Dave’s Custom Woodwork.

Thanks again, Dave, for your hard work and the lasting mark you’ve made on the fire service and your community!

As we welcome Dale Grochow as our new MSFDA President, we’re excited about the fresh ideas and energy he brings to the table.

Just a quick reminder: invoices for 2025 membership dues have been sent out, with a payment deadline of February 1, 2025. In 2024, MSFDA had 657 member departments! If your department isn’t a member yet, check out our website at www.msfda.org or reach out to your local MSFDA Region Director to find out more.

We’re excited to see what 2025 has in store as we continue to strengthen our fire service community together.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

DeeDee Jankovich, MSFDA Executive Director
