Rapid Valley Structure Fire Escalates to a Second Alarm
The Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1000 block of Pennington St, Rapid Valley, unincorporated, Pennington County, SD on Mar. 27, 2022 at 11:29 p.m.
First arriving firefighters found a free burning fire, with a moderate to heavy smoke condition, in the interior and roof assembly of an attached garage.
Pennington County Deputies discovered and reported the fire, additionally they assisted the occupants in escaping.
Firefighters contained the fire to the structure of origin, stopping the spread of the flames to nearby structures, infrastructure and other improvements.
No injuries to firefighters, civilians or domestic animals were reported.
The American Red Cross Serving Central and Western South Dakota, and the Black Hills Fire Chaplains Association is assisting the occupants.
