See you in Gering

It is hard to believe it is time for Conference once again. This past year has flown by. I look forward to seeing everyone soon. At the time of writing this we are just coming back from the NSVFA Memorial Service in Kearney at the museum. Fairbury hosted this year’s memorial service and did a great job. Nebraska State Fire Marshal Cordes came to give the memorial address, and it was great address to honor those who we lost as well as pay tribute to firefighters. The museum live streamed the event, so if you missed it you could go to their facebook page to see it. Thanks again to Fairbury Rural Fire Department, the memorial committee, Nebraska State Fire Marshal Scott Cordes, NSVFA Chaplain Mau, Nebraska Firefighters Museum, Kearney Fire Dept., and everyone who helped make the memorial service happen.

Last month, I wrote about a survey going out again about having the Nebraska Firefighter as a digital edition. In the last month we were informed that postage has gone up again and is set to increase even more. If we move to a digital edition of the paper, it will still be the same paper that you are used to, but, just a digital format. This could be a big cost savings for the association to go to digital.

With harvest going and the continued fires that we fight all year round, everyone stay safe out there, and see you soon in Gering.

Shad Bryner,

NSVFA President
