Spring is around the corner!
Well, the year is off and running, it seemed just like yesterday I was running for 2nd vice president and here I am the President. I am looking forward to our second meeting of the year coming up in Grand Island, we have plenty on the agenda and should be a good kick off to the new year. As I stated last month, the big change will be the way we are getting this newspaper. It will be digital, and you will be notified when that will happen, and how to get on to read it. It will be a learning curve for all of us so please be patient while we all work it out together. As hopefully all of us received some moisture of late, I know we had ¾” of rain and we are thankful to get it, I hope the entire state received it as well. It looks like we are almost done with harvest season, and fall has been here, and winter is on its way, we are preparing for cold weather as it is just around the corner.
We will be attending the meetings in Grand Island as I stated earlier, and then will be travelling to Lincoln to get a chance to meet with our senators. This is a good opportunity to let them know what we are looking for and what our vision is. It is the goal of the board to help all the volunteers get what they need to be successful. In saying that all of your input is greatly needed, and the way to accomplish that is to attend your mutual aid meetings and let your area reps know what is going on and they can relay that information onto the district reps, and we then will be able to discuss those needs and address on how to get them met.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all again for the trust on being your president and I will strive to do the best I can. Please reach out to me if you need anything and I will try to assist you. I want to wish you all a happy Holiday season with your friends and family and safe travels during that time. With that Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
(For all of you wondering just 127 days until spring! Even less by the time you read this.)
Also, as always stay safe and God Bless the Volunteer.
